purpose
start with why
Not all organisations have a clear purpose, but the ones that are successful over time do. A clear purpose not only provides customers with a reason to engage with an organisation, but also provides the people working in the business with a reason why they should come to work.
A purpose also helps you be clear around who you serve and what problems you are solving for them. It helps you decide what products and services you provide, and what you don’t do.
A clear purpose is written as: we help [who you help in terms of specific customers] [the problem you solve] by [what we do] so that they can [the result of solving them problem].
For example, our why is: we help businesses with a a passion [our specific customers] get their business unstuck [the problem we solve] through rethinking, resetting and relaunching their business on a regular basis [what we do] so that they can live their passion [the result of them solving the problem].
